Dear Friends, Partners and magazine-maniacs, Winter has arrived and it's freezing outside. Inside the Colophon office, however, things are getting hotter and hotter as our team works hard to prepare for the most exciting event in the independent magazine calendar, less than 10 weeks away!

With approximately 30 hours of talks, 15 hours of workshops, 100 Magazine Makers, 10 Magazine Guests, 15 venues across Luxembourg already planned, the programme is getting bigger and better by the day and is almost…ready!

All we need now is you! So don’t be shy, send us your magazines for distribution and sales at Colophon, get your Flash Pass while stocks last, plan your trip to Luxembourg in March 2009, book your hotel room and prepare for a Colophon explosion of inspiration, contacts and new ideas.

A showcase of some of the most creative independent magazines in the world, Through specially commissioned photos and detailed interviews, “We Make Magazines” will reveal the faces and the inspirations of those behind some of our favourite publications.
The magazines will also be showed and presented, sold and distributed during the Colophon 2009 International Magazine Symposium.

This on-going project, initiated by German publisher, designer Christoph Keller, who founded the publishing company Revolver, is a travelling exhibition focusing on independent publishing in the fields of contemporary art, design and graphic design.

The Magazine Store

Magazine StoreIn 2009, Colophon will welcome a new Partner to manage the Magazine Store inside the Casino: the professional bookstore owner Hans Fellner of Fellner Art Books.

The ”Magazine Store” is a professional magazine store and library set up in the stunning “aquarium” of the Casino Luxembourg - forum d'art contemporain overlooking the Petrusse Valley.  Magazines can be bought, borrowed, browsed through or given away for free. Approx. 300 magazines are participating in this initiative. Everybody loves tasty coffee and fresh sandwiches, so we added some. Relax with a good magazine (or two) and a snack, while listening to the music playlists of thirty guest magazines. People will never want to leave.

 

 

 

HOW TO PARTICIPATE? - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Register online www.colophon2009.com/store

2. Deliver the magazines to: Colophon 2009, 10 rue des Gaulois, L-1618 Luxembourg, Europe before February 13th 2009 (to be in Luxembourg).

Quantities required:
For show: 3 copies
For free distribution: min. 50, we recommand 100 or 200 copies
To sell in the store: 5 - 25 copies or even more: 50 copies.

Note
As the magazines manager, Hans Fellner has to right to approve or not the magazine suggested to him. We suggest to send magazines which can be “friendly exported”, of high standard and not too much local oriented. Thanks.
